High School Summer Mission 2024

We are looking forward to a great summer ministry week beginning Sunday evening June 16th and concluding Friday afternoon/evening June 21st!

The team will be doing local ministry in Detroit in conjunction with an organization called Central Detroit Christian. Check out their website HERE. They run a Christian summer camp as well as a variety of work projects in order to help build and develop the community of metro Detroit.

The trip begins on Sunday as there is a mandatory meeting with CDC that evening. The team will then have CDC trainings and complete work projects from 9 AM-5PM Monday through Thursday and then head back to church for dinner, devotions and time to relax and build community.

The team should be done their work projects on Thursday and Friday will be a culminating fun day.

The team will lodge in the new building at GBC. Naturally, guys and girls will sleep with their leaders in separate rooms. A more detailed packing list will be forthcoming, but FYI - students are welcome to bring cots or air mattresses along with bedding for comfortable sleeping.

While with CDC during the day, our high school students will have the opportunity to work on several work type projects throughout the week, such as painting houses and cleaning parks to list only a few possibilities. We won't know the complete details of our work projects until it gets closer to our assigned dates. Catalyst High School Director, Matt Gorr, personally served with this organization when in high school and loved it!

Catalyst leadership will be in touch with students and their families in the coming weeks in order to provide more information and any training necessary for this trip.

IMPORTANT!! This is a mission trip, not a retreat. Therefore, priority will be given to regular Catalyst attenders who exhibit a heart attitude of service.

IMPORTANT!! Any student that wishes to participate MUST stay the night with the group at church and MUST participate in the entire trip.

**Rising 9th graders are welcome to attend this trip

 Pricing information:

Deposit - $50 due upon registration

Remaining balance - $100 due by May 31, you may choose to pay the full amount now if preferred

**All students will need to have a GBC 2024 permission slip on file and also complete a waiver form for CDC. The links to complete those will be sent to registrants in the near future.

**As always, we do not wish the cost of this trip to be prohibitive for any family. Please reach out to us if a scholarship -- or even a partial scholarship -- would be helpful.
