Big Creek Mission Trip 2022

Sunday, July 17, 2022 - Saturday, July 23, 2022

We are excited to announce that Catalyst summer missions are back! This year we will be staying domestic and taking a group of our Middle School and High School Students together to Big Creek Missions in Kentucky. We trust and pray that this trip will be a blessing to both the local community in Kentucky and our students.
*REGISTRATION CLOSES MARCH 31*

Who is this trip for?
This trip is for Middle and High School students that…
... want to grow in their love for Jesus
... want to spend a week serving others
... are flexible and willing to listen to directions
... can put others needs above their own
... are actively involved in Catalyst*

This trip is NOT for students that…
... are looking for a trip packed with "fun" (although we are still going to have a blast!)
... require alone time (we’ll be together 24/7)
... are unwilling to take directions

What will we do?
We will spend the week investing in our own faith and serving the local community. Each day we will start our morning with worship, followed by serving the local community, and close out the day with more worship and group debriefing from the day. Before we go your student will choose 1 of 3 service opportunities:
- Children's Ministry: running a "VBS style" experience for local children
- Community Service: food pantries, elderly care, home visits, lawn care, etc.
- Construction: various home repairs of anything from roofing to flooring

FAQ
Will our group be the only ones there?
No, we will be joining approximately 125 other people from churches across the nation

Will our group be together the whole time?
No, students will be broken up into smaller groups for the service portion of the day, join other church groups, and come back together at night.

Is there a cell phone policy for this trip?
Yes, as the focus of this trip is to look outward in service, cell phone usage should be minimal. Students are allowed to have their cell phones primarily for contacting / updating family. If a student's cell phone becomes a distraction, they will be asked to put it away. If the problem continues, the phone may be taken by a leader until an appropriate time for usage.

Is there a cancellation policy?
Big Creek requires that we pay our full trip balance upon registration. Unless our reserved spots are claimed by other groups, our costs will not be refunded. Therefore, cancellations should be rare. Refunds will be considered on a case by case basis.

*Please note that space is limited. Priority will be given to students actively involved in Catalyst.
**If your student shows a lack of maturity required for this trip they will be asked to try again another year.
